Celebrating business for over 57 years, Joe Granato himself, started supplying fresh produce in 1964. Joe Granato Inc. is located in Salt Lake City, Utah, supplying wholesale fruit and produce with daily deliveries throughout the Wasatch front and now covering most areas in Utah. Joe Granato Inc. is the preferred specialty produce supplier for several school districts, restaurants, hospitals, and care facilities for years.  

At Joe Granato Inc. we offer a full line of fresh fruits and vegetables in case quantities; along with fresh cut produce to your exact specifications in various quantities; always affordable and at the highest quality. We have a full-time quality control supervisor who checks the quality and temperature of every incoming product to ensure the best quality available. We keep an up-to-date HAACP program; keeping stringent cleaning procedures, independent food safety monitoring, and employee education so we can provide a safe product to the consumer. We are one of the only companies in Utah to be GSFI certified.  GSFI, Global Food Safety Initiative, is an industry driven global collaboration to advance food safety. We try to ensure that we are doing everything we can to provide quality products from a clean environment.

Joe Granato Inc's Fruit and Produce Co. was the lifeblood of owner and founder Joe Granato. The son of Italian immigrants Sam and Mary Granato; Joe started in the produce business at Pacific Fruit after serving in the U.S. Army during World War II.

At age 44 he started his own wholesale fruit and produce warehouse at the old growers market where the Hilton now stands in Salt Lake City, taking orders from independent grocers. With hard work and dedication Joe was successful in expanding his company to include several delivery trucks delivering along the Wasatch front. The company moved to 551 South 600 West in the mid-1970's operating out of a 10,000 square foot facility.

In June of 2000, he opened the current warehouse at 46 South Orange Street. Granato's services restaurants and institutions with fresh fruit and vegetables grown across the world. Joe habitually came to work even in his later years as early as 3 a.m. He checked the coolers, made sure the vehicles were serviced, talked with customers and handled the banking. Marty, his son and company V.P. says "Joe was here six days a week and sometimes on Sunday, this was his life."

All of his children worked in the family business at some point. Known as a fair business man, a hard worker, and a giving individual Joe will always be a part of the success that bears his name.
